OxyChalk® - The 100% Natural Water Improver!A Chalk Based Pond, Lake & Fishery Improvement Product from Sawyer NymphsDeals effectively with:
Superb for the regular treatment of fish ponds!
History
Modern science is now able to explain the mechanisms behind many of Sawyer's observations on the benefits of chalk. This has allowed Sawyer Nymphs Ltd to improve on the Avon Valley chalk Frank Sawyer used. This new product is OxyChalk® for which a UK Registered Trademark was granted in Jan 2009. OxyChalk® is based on the same high purity chalk used by Frank Sawyer but has important natural and biodegradable additives that enhance the beneficial effects of chalk. The unique manufacturing process also imparts important properties to the product. OxyChalk® is 100% biodegradable, environmentally safe and harmless to humans, fish, birds, animal life, pets and aquatic plants when used in water at the specified dosage rates.
How OxyChalk® Works OxyChalk® should be used on all waters that require intensive care to bring them back up to a high standard. Problems that OxyChalk® can improve include discoloured and smelly water, poor oxygen levels, algal blooms and bottom sludge.
Application OxyChalk® should be used on waters in poor health as a means of improving conditions for fish keeping and can be used generally on all waters to maintain and enhance the condition of the water. The special additives in OxyChalk® include a natural flocculant that causes suspended matter to sink to the bottom where the special chalk and beneficial microbes rapidly decompose organic waste. OxyChalk® can be used at any time of the year but will have most effect if used in the spring. Ideally, the main application should be in the spring with maintenance doses of half the initial application made every couple of months thereafter. Some species of fish are particularly sensitive to any change in the environment. No fish have ever been reported harmed by OxyChalk® as it is gentle and natural product, but fish owners are advised to dose ponds by section if particularly sensitive species or specimens are present. By dosing a quarter of the pond every 24 hours, sensitive fish can move slowly from a non-treated to a treated part of the pond in their own time. On initial application the water will take on a cloudy white appearance. This will dissipate within a few days and a light covering on the bottom will then be observed. This will slowly disappear as biological activity increases. Filtration systems should, if possible, be switched off during application and for a few hours afterwards.
